Lodging Description: Palazzo Arzaga is a 15th century mansion refurbished as a deluxe hotel. With its own beautiful chapel and charming interior courtyard it's sense of history is tangible. The main staircase is of original marble and mirrors the marble of the open fireplace in the bar, reading room, restaurant and suites. Whilst the magnificent stairway on the west wing has original frescoes winding up to the top floor. Two guestrooms overlooking the golf course also have original frescoes. Second floor rooms have wooden beamed ceilings and a cosy country style. FLOOR TYPE DESCRIPTIONS The 84 guestrooms and suites of the hotel are situated in different areas in and around the 15th century palazzo giving you the possibility to choose. Each one possesses fine fabrics, 18th & 19th century antique furnishings, yet have the latest technology such as e-mail jacks and individual air conditioning control. THE PALAZZO Dating back to the 15th century, it is a quad shaped mansion with an internal courtyard. The ground floor is dedicated to public areas where THE PALAZZO CONT'D salons such as reading and sitting rooms, the fine Italian Moretto restaurant, the stylish bar, enoteca and other salons flow one into each other in a harmonious fashion. Each one being unique it's particular corniched ceiling revealing the various, historic patronage of the Palazzo. FIRST FLOOR PALAZZO With views over the 15th courtyard, forest or golf courses, guests can choose from suites with 19th century mosaics, deluxe rooms (some with frescoes), superior and standard rooms. High ceilings, tapestries and large bathrooms are typical here. As well, some of the corridors are laden with FIRST FLOOR PALAZZO CONT'D 15th century frescoes, leading to the magnificent frescoed staircase. ALCOVE PALAZZO Also in the original Palazzo, guestrooms on this floor are especially quiet and face either the courtyard, forest or golf course. Unique, old style wooden ceilings are a design characteristic as well as small oval windows, creating a cosy, intimate atmosphere. Comprising the Alcove are junior suites, deluxe, superior and standard guestrooms. Corridors also have the traditional wooden ceilings and lead to the magnificent frescoed staircase. RESIDENZA SAN MARTINO Directly adjacent to the Palazzo and connected to the 14th century church. Guests can choose from ground floor rooms that exit into the cobblestoned main entrance. The first floor cradles the still consecrated, frescoed church and afford views of the forest or the Palazzo. RESIDENZA dei CASTAGNI Situated in a tranquil setting just a few steps from the golf course. On oasis of calm, many of these guestrooms have their own terrace. The superior and standard guestrooms in the castagna possess and air of rustic charm in the choice of fabrics.
