Five star: (The "best" of
the best)- At BestLodging.com properties are ranked against each
other on a bell curve, plotted with a standard deviation of one, and
a mean of 2.25 (2.25 stars). The value of the
y-axis depicting the curve represents the number of properties
that can achieve a particular ranking. Each new property added or
deleted affects the rating of the others. Properites ranked 5 stars
are all those at least 2.75 standard deviations from the mean (the
top .298% of all properties). So when there are 100,000
properties, the top 298 will be rated 5 stars. There are
currently a little over 53,000 properties or about 160 5
star properties. |

a 5 star at one time or can be) 4.75 stars- within the top .62%
of all properties. 4.5 stars- within the top 1.22% of all
lodgings. 4.25 stars- within the top 2.28% of all
establishments. 4 stars- within the top 4 percent of all

Class) 3.75 stars- within the top 6.68% of all listings. 3.5
stars- within the top 10.56% of all lodgings. 3.25 stars- within
the top 15.87% of all properties. 3 stars- within the top 22.66%

lodgings. 2.5 stars- within the top 40.13% of all
properties. 2.25 stars- within the top 50% of all
