Law #5 - Count Calories Some diet books say you don't have to count calories. But I wrote this diet so it would produce results that are as precise as possible for you. If they aren't precise, you're setting yourself up for failure. You have to eat at least more than your BMR every day or you'll go into starvation mode and the weight that you lose will be one-third to one-half muscle. How do you know you that you at least ate more than your BMR? By counting calories. On the other hand, you can't eat more than your calorie allotment for the day, or you're shooting yourself in the foot as far as making progress. You won't have any idea if your eating too much unless you count calories. Then you're not left merely hoping to lose weight. To help you count calories, we have a section listing nutrient amounts for over 6,000 foods and a restaurant nutrition section with over 100 restaurants. Later, we plan on creating an online calorie counting journal, with these food listings and restaurant information as a database. You'll be able to enter in your own custom foods in the event that our system doesn't have what you ate. It will also log your exercise activites. You'll have lifetime access to this exercise/nutrition journal at no charge when this is done. We'll e-mail you as soon as it is done. This will make life easier for you in that you won't have to keep buying a $20 exercise nutrition journal that only holds a years worth of listings. In 2029, you can go back and see what you were eating back in 2009. Other web sites charge as much as $10/month for this. The free sites that offer this make no promise to keep the data into the future. |
